HONRAR LA VIDA

La señora Esperanza, con su sombrero rosa, camina descalza sobre la arena. Como confidente el mar, al cual le cuenta:

—Puedo decirte los golpes que me da la vida, las veces que mirando las noticias pregunté: «¿Dios, por qué permites tantas desgracias?» Jamás recibí respuestas. Trato de hacer lo mejor que puedo por mí y por los demás. Mantengo mi fe en que hay un plan mayor. Tu poder me contagia, provocando en mí estas promesas: No me detengan o me digan que no puedo. Mi férrea voluntad por ser feliz me supera. Algunos transitan por esta vida, muertos. Mis ojos vibran en la explosión de colores que armonizan, me fundo en la naturaleza, persiguiendo versos hasta el infinito. Amando ¡Dios! ¡Amando hasta la locura! La risa es música en el viento que revolotea en mi cara. Bailo embriagada de alegría, que quiero repartir como trofeos. Con intensidad voy a vivir mi vida, porque solo tengo una y esta oportunidad.

Esperanza, satisfecha, se aleja, su sombrero es solo un punto en la distancia.

Sobre la autora

Cecilia Díaz, de nacionalidad cubana, escritora y empresaria radicada en Florida. Culminó sus estudios de periodista y tiene un máster en liderazgo educacional. Su libro de microrrelatos Brevedad Habitada recibió reconocimiento por ser el más vendido por la editorial Entre Líneas. La alcaldía de Miami ha proclamado el 21 de agosto como el día de Cecilia Díaz por su labor y aporte a la comunidad. Es fundadora de la escuela de arte GIGI’s Dance Academy y de la fundación sin fines de lucro SOMOS. Actualmente está preparando otro libro de microrrelatos y una novela.

GRACING LIFE

Lady Hope, with her pink hat, walks barefoot on the sand. To her trusted friend the sea, she is talking:

“I can tell you about the knocks that life gives me, the times that watching the news I asked: ´God, why do you allow so much disgrace?’ I never received any answers. I try to do the best I can for me and for others. My faith is set that there is a major plan. Your power infects me, causing these promises in me: Don’t stop me, nor don’t you tell me that I can’t. My fierce will for being happy surpasses me. Some go through this life, dead. My eyes vibrate in the explosion of colors that they match. I melt in nature, chasing verses to the infinite. Loving, God! Loving until madness. Laughter is music in the wind that flies around my face. I dance drunk with the happiness that I want to give away like trophies. With passion, I am going to live my life. Because I only have one, and this chance.»

Lady Hope, satisfied, moves away. Her hat is only a dot in the distance.

About the Author

Cecilia Díaz, a Cuban national, writer and businesswoman based in Florida. She completed her studies as a journalist and has a master’s degree in educational leadership. Her micro-story book Brevedad Habitada (Inhabited Brevity) was recognized as best-seller by Entre Líneas publishing house. The Miami mayor’s office has proclaimed August 21 as Cecilia Díaz Day, for her work and contribution to the community. She is the founder of GIGI’s Dance Academy art school, and the non-profit foundation SOMOS. She is currently preparing another book of short stories and a novel.
